Senior Java Developer

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Lead / Senior Backend Engineer (Java) to provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on in software development. This opportunity is ideal for a passionate backend engineer who enjoys designing scalable systems, mentoring developers, and driving architectural excellence in a modern microservices environment.

Skills Required

• 7–10+ years' commercial Java backend development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Extensive experience building distributed microservices architectures.
• Deep understanding of event-driven architecture, including Kafka, CQRS, event sourcing, and asynchronous messaging.
• Strong database design and optimisation experience using PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Experience delivering software from design through deployment and ongoing support.
• Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
