AGRONOMIST – FM2610

Rustenburg area, North West Province – South Africa: Seeking a passionate, technically-minded Agronomist to join the team and drive sustainable agricultural growth in the company’s regions.

This is a ‘ LIVE OUT’ position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• BSc or Diploma in Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in crop production, technical sales, or agricultural research.
• Strong understanding of South African farming practices.
• Valid Code 08 (EB) Driver’s License and willingness to travel frequently to service clients in the region.
• Excellent communication and relationship skills.
• ESG Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of sustainable agriculture, regenerative farming, and ESG reporting frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE LIMITED TO

Field Scouting & Diagnostics

• Conduct routine field visits to scout for pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.

Crop & Soil Management

• Develop tailored fertilization, irrigation, and crop protection programs based on soil and tissue analyses.

Technical Support

• Advise commercial growers on best practices, seed selection, and modern farming technologies.

Data Tracking

• Monitor crop performance, estimate yields, and keep accurate records of field trials.

Sales & Relationship Building

• Build trust with local farmers, promote our specialized agricultural products, and achieve regional sales targets.

Carbon & Emissions

• Track and reduce the carbon footprint of our agricultural inputs (e.g., fertilizers, fuel) and explore regenerative agriculture methods.
