A leading engineering company is seeking an experienced PLC Engineer to design, develop, commission, and support advanced automation and control systems across a variety of industrial projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance control systems for manufacturing and industrial environments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and program PLC control systems for industrial automation projects Develop HMI and SCADA applications for plant monitoring and control Configure industrial communication networks, including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, Profibus, and OPC Perform system integration, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), and commissioning Troubleshoot PLC hardware, software, instrumentation, and control system faults Develop control philosophies, functional design specifications, and technical documentation Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, and Software Engineering teams Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and process optimisation initiatives Assist with electrical panel design reviews and I/O verification Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams Ensure compliance with relevant electrical, safety, and automation standards Travel to customer sites for commissioning and technical support where required Minimum Requirements BEng, BTech, National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or Automation Engineering 3-8 years' experience in PLC programming and industrial automation Experience within manufacturing, mining, FMCG, automotive, water treatment, energy, or process industries Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel Technical Skills Experience with one or more of the following platforms: Siemens (TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC) Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk) Schneider Electric (EcoStruxure / Unity Pro) Mitsubishi PLCs Omron PLCs Beckhoff TwinCAT ABB Automation Systems Additional experience with: SCADA systems (Ignition, WinCC, AVEVA/Wonderware, FactoryTalk View) Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) Servo systems and motion control Industrial robotics integration Instrumentation and process control Industrial networking and fieldbus technologies Please send your cv to
