SUMMARY

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, cleanliness and upkeep of their warehouse, offices and facilities.

The successful candidate will supervise a small maintenance and cleaning team, ensure the premises remain safe and compliant with Occupational Health & Safety standards, coordinate repairs, conduct inspections and perform general hands-on maintenance when required.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities Supervise the maintenance and cleaning team (4-6 staff) Allocate and monitor daily maintenance and cleaning tasks Oversee building repairs and preventative maintenance Conduct routine inspections of the warehouse, offices and site facilities Inspect the quality of cleaning and ensure high housekeeping standards Conduct risk assessments and assist with internal safety audits Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation and company policies Inspect ladders, trolleys and other site equipment to ensure they are safe and serviceable Inspect, repair and maintain warehouse shelving and racking where required Coordinate and supervise external contractors Perform minor hands-on maintenance including general building repairs and basic plumbing when required Maintain maintenance schedules, inspection records and safety documentation Report maintenance issues and recommend improvements to management Ensure tools, equipment and facilities remain in good working order Minimum Requirements Matric (essential) Trade qualification advantageous Health & Safety qualification (SAMTRAC, NOSA or equivalent) advantageous Minimum 2 years' experience in a maintenance supervisory role Experience supervising maintenance and/or cleaning staff Experience within a warehouse, commercial property, body corporate or similar maintenance environment Good knowledge of general building maintenance Experience conducting safety inspections, risk assessments and audits Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety legislation Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) Valid driver's licence advantageous Key Competencies Strong leadership and supervisory skills Good planning and organisational ability Problem-solving and decision-making skills Attention to detail Good communication skills Ability to prioritise workloads Hands-on approach with a willingness to assist where required Ability to work under pressure Working Hours Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 17:00 Saturday: 08:00 - 12:00 Benefits Medical Aid (after one year of service) Provident Fund (after one year of service) Bonus (after one year of service)
