Intermediate Java Developer

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Intermediate Java Developer to join their Cape Town office. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing enterprise systems while developing innovative solutions and supporting critical business applications.

What You'll Be Doing

• Integrate new clients into existing systems.
• Develop, test, and support Java applications.
• Perform software maintenance and implement system improvements.
• Design and build new functionality.
• Investigate and resolve complex third-line support issues.
• Assist with maintaining system security and supporting audit processes.
• Help improve software development techniques and team processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Software Development, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3–8 years' software development experience.
• Solid experience with Java Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition, and Spring Boot.
• Strong SQL knowledge, including MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Experience using Git, Maven, Eclipse, or NetBeans.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and testing practices.
• Working knowledge of OpenAPI protocols.

Desirable Experience

• Financial transaction processing environments.
• Multi-threaded, high-volume real-time systems.
• Postilion source/sink node development.
• Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Front-end development using Angular.
