Hiring: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Cape Town (Mon–Thu Work from Office | Friday Remote)

Contract: 12 Months (Renewable)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with 10+ years of expertise in building enterprise-scale data platforms across AWS & Azure.

Must-Have Skills

AWS (S3, Glue, EMR, Lambda, Kinesis, Athena)

Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks & Event Hub

Python, PySpark & SQL

Apache Kafka & Real-Time Streaming

AI/ML Data Pipelines & MLOps

Data Lakehouse, Data Mesh & Data Fabric

CI/CD, Terraform & CloudFormation

Data Governance, Metadata & Performance Optimization

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable cloud-native data platforms

• Develop streaming pipelines using Kafka, Kinesis & Event Hub

• Build AI-ready data pipelines and feature stores

• Optimize large-scale data workloads and ensure data quality

• Mentor engineering teams and drive enterprise data strategy

Nice to Have

• AWS & Azure Certifications

• Multi-cloud expertise (AWS + Azure)

• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn & Databricks Feature Store
