Health and Safety Officer (SAIOSH Registered)

We are looking for a qualified Health and Safety Officer to join our team at ceren serv. You will work directly with our facilitators and learners, ensuring our farm-based training venue meets all OHS requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, monitor, and advise on OHS administration
  • Conduct OHS inspections and audits on the farm
  • Monitor compliance with the OHS Act and regulations
  • Compile and maintain safety files
  • Facilitate OHS training and awareness programmes
  • Manage the functionality of the OHS Committee (if applicable)
  • Conduct emergency/evacuation drills
  • Handle Incident on Duty (IOD) matters and maintain an incident register
  • Compile and submit relevant OHS reports

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
  • National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 5 or 6) in Safety Management or an equivalent qualification
  • SAIOSH Registration is essential (TechSaiosh or GradSaiosh). If you are currently pursuing the required NQF level 5 qualification and willing to register as a Student Member with SAIOSH, you may still be considered .
  • A valid driver's license

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years relevant OHS experience
  • Experience in compiling safety files and conducting risk assessments

Knowledge & Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of the OHS Act, 85 of 1993, and related regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good problem-solving and analytical abilities
