MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
- Fault-finding of all electrical equipment.
- Work order management and Root cause analysis
- Learn and comply to plant safety standards and housekeeping
- Sharing information and learning from team members
- Record keeping, updating and creating of electrical drawings
- Recommend improvements to prevent breakdowns
Qualifications, Experience And Personal Qualities
- Matriculated/ N3 (Electrical) qualification; qualified electrical artisan (with Trade Test).
- Registered/able to register as installation electrician with the department of labour with a valid Wireman’s license within 6 months of appointment.
- 3 years’ experience within a sugar refining environment would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of the OHS Act (Occupational Health and Safety act).
- Knowledge of SABS on electrical equipment maintenance, testing, inspection
- Knowledge of SABS standards pertaining to electrical installations in classified areas, maintenance schedules, variable speed drives and soft start devices.
- Able to work in a team displaying good communication skills and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have good problem-solving skills and have a positive attitude towards safety.
- Must be flexible in order to meet the challenges in a demanding environment.
