Our client in the Engineering Manufacturing industry is seeking an Mechatronic/ Electronic System Engineer in Randburg. The individual must have a solid understanding of electrical schematics and be comfortable working with CAN-based Vehicle Control Units. The role places emphasis on project control and management of engineering documentation.

Mechatronic/Electronic System Engineer

Randburg, Gauteng

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and document electrical systems and Harness architectures for off -Highway VehiclesRead, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) documentation.
  • Create detail Schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface to other CAD Tools
  • Perform System Integration, functional verification on production-level vehicles
  • Participate in DFMEA
  • Use Microsoft Visio to create, edit, and update wiring diagrams and control unit layouts.
  • Support ERP system processes related to engineering and production workflows.
  • Contribute to project control activities, including progress tracking, reporting, and coordination of deliverables.
  • Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), ensuring accurate implementation and proper documentation.
  • Oversee data pack management and verification, ensuring all project and customer requirements are met.

Minimum qualifications and experience

  • B Eng Electronic/Mechatronic engineering
  • 4-6 years working experience
  • Strong ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and Control Unit layout
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving ability.
  • Previous experience in project control or technical documentation is an advantage.
