Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Purchasing, Logistics, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Commerce or Business Management
  • Minimum 3 years’ purchasing experience in the automotive industry

Technical and Behavioural Competencies:

  • Business management and project management skills
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to interpret technical data
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and legal requirements
  • Ability to analyse facts/situations and make decisions
  • Stakeholder and conflict management
  • High computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Key Performance Areas:

  • New projects controlling to support new vehicle projects through effective planning, coordination, control and tracking
  • The role ensures that all parts and services are sourced at optimal cost, quality, delivery and sustainability, in line with company purchasing policies and legal requirements
  • Represent Purchasing and cross-functional project teams
  • Track and manage critical and non-critical parts against project milestones
  • Maintain purchasing systems
  • Coordinate commitment meetings and track agreed part timings
  • Compile and present project status and launch reports
  • Escalate risks impacting build milestones
  • Interface with suppliers, engineering, logistics, production and quality
