CONSTRUCTION HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER (CHSM)

Bantubani Group, a leading company specialising in Routine Road Maintenance (RRM) and Road Construction, invites a suitably qualified and experienced Construction Health and Safety Manager (CHSMs) to submit their application for inclusion in our database for current and future high value infrastructure projects across South Africa.
Successful candidates will be considered for appointment should Bantubani Group successfully acquire any relevant works
- Implement and Maintain the Health and Safety Management Systems on all sites
- Audit health and safety files and conduct site inspections
- Facilitate client audits
- Ensure that all accidents and incidents are properly recorded, reported, investigated, and corrective and preventative measures are implemented
- Developing and approving safety files
- Facilitating the inductions of sub-contractors
- Ensuring OHS compliance as per the OHS Act
- Facilitating emergency preparedness and evacuation drills
- Adapt OHS-related documents to be client-specific
- Identification of risks, including evaluation and development of safe work procedures
- Conduct or arrange a risk and hazard assessment and implement the necessary corrective actions in mitigation
- Ensure all site-related trainings and toolbox talks are conducted
- Monthly site and committee meetings attendance
- Regular travelling between different sites
- Construction Health and Safety Officer/ Manager with SACPCMP registration in accordance with section 17 of the OHS Act
- At least 3 years’ experience
- Degree/Diploma/Certificates in Health and Safety Field
- SAMTRAC will be an added advantage
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Excellent writing skills
- Proficient in Excel, ord, and Outlook (Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communication & people skills (Assertiveness)
- Efficiency & accuracy
- Pro-active & able to work independently
Bantubani Group appoints on a project basis. Roles are linked to specific client contracts and are filled as those contracts are confirmed, so engagement is contingent by nature: neither continuous work nor permanent employment is offered or implied. Appointment to any project depends on the contract proceeding, the requirements of that project, and operational needs at the time.
