HSSEQ Officer

An opportunity has arisen for the position of HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality Officer) at a Manufacturing Plant in Tongaat.

Risk and Incident Management

• Draft/ review risk assessments for the site
• Lead investigating incidents, nonconformities, and near misses.

Compliance and Reporting

• Maintain the company's HSSEQ Management System.
• Compile basic monthly reports and KPI data
• Conduct daily and monthly inspections onsite
• Lead internal audits and prepare documents for ISO

Training and Communication

• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to employees.
• Conduct inductions for all visitors, contractors and new employees.
• Maintain company's training and PPE matrix.

Emergency Preparedness and General Safety

• Compiling and conducting emergency drills and action plans.
• Support PPE management process.
• Ensure safety signage and emergency equipments are in place and maintained.

Desired Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• advanced understanding of HHSEQ principles and management systems.
• strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications and Certifications Required

• SAMTRAC/ NEBOSH or equivalent (Safety Management Training)
• HIRA
• Contractor Management
• Waste Management
• Environment Management
• Working at Heights
• First Aid level 3-5
• Advanced Fire Fighting
• Incident Investigation
• Knowledge of Legal Liability principles
• Confined space entry training
