SUMMARY

A leading client in the retail and wholesale sector is seeking for a Merchandiser with Electrical Product Knowledge to join their team based in Pietermaritzburg.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining stock availability, assisting customers, ensuring the sales area is well maintained, and providing product guidance to customers. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of electrical components and hardware products, with the ability to support customers in a fast-moving retail environment.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities: Stock Management & Merchandising Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure products are available and displayed correctly. Monitor shelves and product areas to identify low stock levels and replenish products when required. Ensure electrical products are neatly arranged, labelled, and easily accessible to customers. Assist with maintaining an organised and visually appealing sales floor. Customer Service & Product Support Assist walk-in customers with product queries and provide professional customer service. Offer guidance and recommend suitable electrical products based on customer requirements. Suggest alternative products and solutions where applicable. Ensure customers receive a positive shopping experience. Store Maintenance Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the assigned work area. Ensure product displays and surrounding areas are kept neat and presentable. Assist with general duties within the store as required. Minimum Requirements: Qualifications: Matric / Grade 12 is essential. Experience & Knowledge: Previous retail, merchandising, sales, or general worker experience will be advantageous. Knowledge of electrical components and hardware products is essential. Experience with fast-moving electrical goods within a retail environment will be advantageous. Ability to understand customer needs and provide appropriate product recommendations. Skills & Competencies: Strong customer service skills. Good communication skills. Ability to work well within a team. Good attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
