Junior Civil Engineer (BEng) - Pretoria

Our client, a well-established consulting engineering firm, is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join their Pretoria office. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent BEng Civil Engineering graduate with up to 3 years' experience to build their career within the private consulting sector while working on a variety of municipal infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will assist with the planning, design and delivery of municipal engineering projects, gaining exposure to roads, stormwater, water reticulation, sewer infrastructure and bulk earthworks alongside an experienced engineering team.

Key Skills

• Ability to work well within a collaborative consulting environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Assist with the design of municipal infrastructure projects.

• Prepare engineering drawings and technical documentation.

• Design roads, stormwater, water, and sewer reticulation systems.

• Assist with bulk earthworks design and project delivery.

• Attend site inspections and site meetings.

• Coordinate with engineers, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams.

• Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards and municipal requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• BEng Degree in Civil Engineering.

• ECSA Candidate Engineer registration is advantageous.

• Valid South African driver's licence is preferred.

Experience

• 0 to 3 years' post-graduate experience.

• Experience within a private consulting engineering firm or private civil contractor.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (C3D).

• Exposure to IDAS is advantageous.

• Experience with municipal services and infrastructure projects.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
