POSITION INFO

Our client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Relief Resident Engineer to join their Johannesburg office. This is a fixed-term contract position. This role is ideal for a motivated civil engineering professional with strong experience in construction supervision and contract administration who enjoys managing multiple infrastructure projects and working closely with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer civil engineering contracts.
• Provide construction supervision and monitor daily site activities.
• Coordinate project delivery across multiple sites and provinces.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards and contractual requirements.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, authorities and professional teams.
• Monitor construction progress and prepare regular project reports.
• Review contractor key personnel, quality control plans and project methodologies.
• Ensure contractor quality documentation is complete and compliant.
• Prepare contractual correspondence and respond to contractual claims.
• Evaluate claims and issue Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) where required.
• Drive quality assurance, safety compliance and technical excellence throughout project execution. Requirements: National Diploma, BTech, BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering. Minimum 5-7 years'''' experience in civil engineering infrastructure projects. Proven experience in: Roads Stormwater Water supply Sewer infrastructure Bulk earthworks Sound knowledge of: COLT / COTO Specifications SANS 1200 SAICE GCC FIDIC NEC Contracts Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project (or similar scheduling software). Registered with ECSA, or actively working towards registration as: Pr Techni Pr Tech Eng Pr Eng Valid South African driver''''s licence. Own reliable vehicle. Willingness to travel to project sites across various provinces when required.
