Role Title: Website Content & Gaming Specialist

Reports To: Senior Digital Manager

Contract Type: One-year fixed-term

Location: Cape Town (On-site)

Role Purpose

SA20 is seeking a digitally savvy Website Content & Gaming Specialist to join our digital and content team. The successful candidate will create and publish compelling cricket content, support fantasy and gaming initiatives, and keep the website the trusted destination for fans of global franchise cricket.

This is a senior hands-on role within a small, agile team, working across Betway SA20, Schools SA20, and other events staged by Africa Cricket Development. You will collaborate closely with the broader digital, marketing, communications, and broadcast teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Website Publishing & CMS Management

• Publish and manage content optimised for SEO, GEO and UX.

• Monitor site health, report bugs, maintain the media library with correct metadata, and tagging.

• Maintain website taxonomy, content structure, and assist with digital asset management (DAM).

2. Gaming & Fan Engagement

• Support the brand’s fantasy, predictor games, and fan engagement products.

• Create and publish gaming content, guides, and promotional assets.

• Monitor participation data and identify opportunities to improve engagement.

3. Content Creation & Editorial

• Write, edit and publish articles, match previews, recaps, feature stories, and gaming content.

• Build content plans around tournaments, players and key cricket moments.

• Collaborate with social and creative teams; maintain brand tone and editorial quality across all outputs.

4. Digital Growth & Insights

• Monitor content performance and identify optimisation opportunities.

• Track audience trends and emerging digital formats; contribute ideas for new content series and activations.

5. Cricket & Digital Culture

• Stay deeply informed on global franchise cricket (IPL, The Hundred, Big Bash, MLC, PSL, CPL, etc.) to keep coverage authoritative.

• Monitor leading sports publishers, gaming platforms and cultural trends to surface fresh ideas.

• Demonstrate genuine curiosity about how audiences consume content and engage with sport online.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential

• 4–6 years’ experience in digital publishing, sports media, content marketing or a similar role.

• Strong writing and editing skills with an ability to maintain brand voice and editorial quality.

• Proven experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, etc.).

• Solid understanding of SEO, HTML and image editing tools (Photoshop, Canva).

• A genuine passion for and strong understanding of the global franchise cricket landscape.

Desirable

• Interest in fantasy sports, gaming and fan engagement products.

• Familiarity with analytics tools and digital publishing best practices.

• Experience working across multiple digital properties or brands.
