Legal Advisor – Tyger Waterfront, Bellville

Property Development | Full-time | On-site

Our client, an established and diversified property development group with interests across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, is seeking a practical and commercially minded Legal Advisor to join their team.

This role is suited to an experienced legal professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and can provide broad legal, commercial, and HR support across multiple business units. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing legal risk, supporting property transactions, and ensuring strong governance practices across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general legal advice and guidance to management and internal stakeholders
  • Support the implementation of company policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Identify, assess, and assist in managing legal, commercial, and compliance risks
  • Draft, review, and manage legal correspondence, notices, and corporate documentation
  • Liaise with external attorneys, conveyancers, consultants, and other stakeholders
  • Assist with litigation management and dispute resolution processes
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and property-related agreements, including sales, leases, construction, service, loan, security, and confidentiality agreements
  • Provide legal support on property acquisitions, disposals, and developments
  • Review title deeds, servitudes, land-use approvals, and conveyancing documentation
  • Liaise with conveyancers on transfers, subdivisions, consolidations, and sectional title matters
  • Support homeowners’ association and body corporate matters
  • Draft board and shareholder resolutions and support governance processes
  • Maintain corporate records and assist with company secretarial requirements
  • Review memoranda of incorporation, shareholder agreements, and governance documents
  • Draft employment contracts, appointment letters, warnings, and employee correspondence
  • Support performance management, disciplinary processes, and employee relations matters
  • Maintain HR policies and assist with general employment-related queries

Requirements

  • LLB degree
  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-admission experience
  • Strong experience in commercial contract drafting and legal advisory work
  • Solid knowledge of commercial, corporate, and property law
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
