We are looking for a detail-oriented Licensing Specialist to manage and maintain all licensing and regulatory requirements for the business. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with relevant South African legislation, coordinate licence applications and renewals, liaise with regulatory authorities, and maintain accurate records. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines are essential.

Sales Operations function

  • This part of the role will be about managing the Microsoft relationships from an operational point of view (pipeline, leads, marketing events, etc). We would have regular meetings with Microsoft AM's and PAM's to drive these activities.
  • Managing rebates and incentive programs, i.e. making sure that the company receives and maximizes on the amount of rebates it receives from Microsoft for the various CSP Programs that it sells.
  • Reporting to the business on the above through the Sales Operations team
  • Management of vendor portals for training requirements, rebates, accreditation, competencies, etc.
  • Main point of contact with Microsoft EOC for order, licensing and related resolution of issues

Sales & Pre-Sales function

  • This part involves growing the CSP business through various efforts such as alignment with Vodacom AM's in the various sectors, marketing events, tender responses, etc.
  • Pre-Sales: Working with the AM's and technical team on building and presenting customer solutions.
  • Translation of Microsoft's licensing terms and product requirements, features, etc to the technical and sales teams for ease of proposal or solution building.
  • Provisioning of customer M365 tenants.
  • Assignment of licences (adhoc, bulk uploads)
  • DPOR assignments and tracking
  • MX and TXT Record change requests
  • Coordinating with Microsoft on major tenant changes such as resolving incorrect licence-tenant provisions
  • Customer Azure consumption monitoring for cost optimization

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
  • A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Telecommunications, Compliance, or a related field is advantageous.
  • 3–5 years' experience in a licensing, regulatory, compliance, or telecommunications administration role.
  • Knowledge of South African telecommunications legislation and regulatory requirements, including experience working with Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), is highly advantageous.
  • Experience managing licence applications, renewals, amendments, and regulatory submissions.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and document management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with regulators, service providers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
