Introduction

Our client is a leading provider of specialised healthcare logistics solutions, servicing the pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare sectors. They are seeking driven New Business Partners at Junior, Mid and Senior levels to identify, secure and grow new business opportunities while building long-term client relationships within the regulated healthcare environment.

Purpose of the Role

The Healthcare New Business Partner is responsible for identifying and securing new healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical-device logistics opportunities by developing commercially viable, compliant logistics solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, pricing, customer service and quality teams to convert prospects into long-term clients while ensuring compliance with healthcare distribution and cold-chain requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and qualify new healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical-device logistics prospects.
  • Build strong relationships with prospective clients through networking and consultative selling.
  • Understand client operations, regulatory requirements and distribution needs.
  • Develop tailored logistics and supply chain solutions.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals and quotations.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
  • Convert qualified opportunities into signed business.
  • Coordinate smooth handover of new clients to implementation and operations teams.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.

Commercial & Management Support

  • Provide regular pipeline updates and market intelligence.
  • Assist with healthcare sales initiatives and growth strategies.
  • Contribute to pricing models and commercial solution design.
  • Recommend enhancements to healthcare logistics services.
  • Support forecasting and business planning.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Pricing, Finance and Quality teams.
  • Build strong relationships with prospective healthcare clients.
  • Ensure seamless client onboarding and transition.
  • Work closely with Account Management and Retention teams to ensure excellent client experience.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current with healthcare logistics trends and competitor activity.
  • Continuously improve consultative selling and negotiation skills.
  • Share market feedback to improve products and services.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales processes and client onboarding.

Minimum Requirements

Junior New Business Partner

  • Minimum 1 year sales, customer engagement or business development experience within a healthcare logistics environment.
  • Exposure to healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device or regulated logistics clients.
  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business, Logistics or Supply Chain advantageous.
  • Sales or Customer Management certification advantageous.

New Business Partner (Mid-Level)

  • 2–3 years' business development experience within healthcare logistics.
  • Proven experience selling logistics solutions to healthcare, pharmaceutical or medical device clients.
  • Relevant diploma advantageous.
  • Sales certification advantageous.

Senior New Business Partner

  • Minimum 5 years' business development experience within healthcare logistics.
  • Strong track record securing new healthcare, pharmaceutical or medical device logistics clients.
  • Relevant diploma advantageous.
  • Sales certification advantageous.

Knowledge

  • MS Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
