Fedics are seeking an Assistant Catering Manager to join our Healthcare division. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Catering Manager with the day-to-day operations of delivering a catering service that meets the required standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the production of meals, snacks, and functions, ensuring quality standards are met
- Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently; step in where required
- Assist with menu planning and costing Place supplier orders and manage procurement
- Complete administrative tasks (returns, salary variations, etc.) Receive, issue, and manage stock (quality, quantity, pricing, storage, rotation)
- Maintain hygiene standards in line with statutory and company requirements

- Manage discipline issues and staff relations, escalating where needed
- Ensure security of stock, cash, and facilities
- Participate in regular stocktaking
- Attend meetings, training, and industry events
- Assume full responsibility of operations in the absence of the Catering Manager
- Lead, motivate, and develop staff
- Manage service delivery standards and customer experience
- Operate and manage systems (Menutec, Plankomat, biometric) Ensure financial control, including: Sales control sheets Cash handling and reconciliation Monthly closure Weekly financial file management
- Compile and understand weekly/monthly P&L reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Handle HR and IR-related matters (performance, training, development)
- Build and maintain strong client and customer relationships
- Analyse client needs and proactively manage complaints
- Assist with functions, promotions, and food & beverage events
- Stay updated on food trends and best practices
- Ensure profitability of the unit at all times
- Support overall operations and assist where required

Qualifications
- Matric and relevant Culinary tertiary qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, with management experience, including exposure to accounting systems
- Previous relevant industry experience would be highly advantageous
