Job Purpose

The Junior Part Sourcer provides administrative and operational support to the sourcing function by assisting with the identification, pricing and availability of parts. This role is responsible for executing allocated sourcing tasks accurately and efficiently, supporting warranty and non-warranty claims, and maintaining supplier communication. Working under guidance, the Junior Part Sourcer contributes to cost-effective sourcing, data accuracy and compliance with established processes and service standards.

Responsibilities

Sourcing Support

Conduct basic part and price sourcing using approved

systems and supplier channels. Support phantom quote

sourcing by obtaining preliminary pricing and availability.

Verify part numbers, pricing and availability with suppliers

Accurately capture sourcing information and maintain data

integrity. Assist with 3rd party and non-warranty claim

sourcing under guidance. Gather multiple supplier quotes

where required and submit to senior sourcer for review.

Follow up with suppliers on outstanding quotes or

confirmations Ensure adherence to sourcing guidelines and

preferred supplier lists.

Operations Management

Assist with warranty claims part and price confirmations by

validating information with suppliers Support senior sourcers

with documentation and follow-ups related to claims Ensure

required information is captured correctly to support claim

processing Flag discrepancies or pricing variances for

further investigation Support the delivery specific goals in

terms of implementing cost reduction, risk management, or

creating synergies, following established systems and

protocols. Approve or reject a price difference based on the

investigation of the quotation in question.

Operational Compliance

Follow sourcing policies, procedures and systems

requirements Ensure all activities comply with agreed SLAs

and governance standards Maintain accurate and auditable

records of sourcing and pricing decisions Strictly adhere to

all sourcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies

and governance frameworks.

Stakeholder Engagement

Maintain professional working relationships with suppliers

and internal stakeholders Escalate service or SLA issues to

leadership Respond to and record day-to-day incidents with

suppliers and to routine queries from suppliers and internal

customers in a timely manner to enable delivery of the

agreed services and supplies. Engage with suppliers to

request quotes, confirm availability and follow up on queries

Build and maintain professional working relationships with

suppliers Provide updates to internal stakeholders on

sourcing progress Escalate supplier-related issues or SLA

concerns when required Provide timely updates to internal

teams on request status.

Work Scheduling and Allocation

Receive and execute assigned sourcing tasks in line with

defined priorities and SLAs Maintain accurate tracking of

work progress and update internal systems accordingly

Escalate complex queries or delays to leadership Ensure

record keeping of all VAPS costing activities.

Personal Capability Building

Develop knowledge of parts, suppliers and sourcing

processes. Build understanding of pricing structures and cost

drivers. Participate in training and coaching to develop

sourcing capability. Continuously improve accuracy,

turnaround time and quality of work.

Education

Grade 12/ SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential)

Experience

1 or more years' work experience (Essential); Experience in Motor Body Repairs (Advantageous); Experience in the Insurance Industry (Advantageous)
