Regional Operations Manager
POSITION INFO
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational coordination and performance of internal crews and suppliers, across all divisions. The role ensures that all operational activities are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with company procedures and compliance requirements. This position oversees crew management, supplier coordination, operational planning, reporting, scheduling, system administration, health & safety compliance, and operational performance to ensure smooth operational execution across all regions and divisions. Key Responsibilities Crew Management & Operational Oversight Take full operational responsibility for internal crews activities. Schedule and coordinate crews for flighting, de-flighting, maintenance, inspections, and campaign-related work. Monitor job progress and ensure all operational tasks are completed within required deadlines and quality standards. Manage daily operational planning and resource allocation. Coordinate material distribution and ensure correct allocation to crews and suppliers. Assist with campaign preparation and operational readiness. Conduct weekly operational meetings with crews to review performance, planning, and operational issues. Manage crew attendance, leave records, overtime, and general workforce administration. Monitor crew performance, productivity, and operational standards. Assist with disciplinary processes, incident investigations, and escalation handling where required. Ensure company vehicles, tools, equipment, and operational assets are properly controlled, maintained, and accounted for. Compliance, SHEQ & Safety Management Ensure all crews complete required DSTI documentation before and after each job. Verify that all crew members maintain valid health and safety training requirements. Arrange additional training and refresher courses where required. Conduct and implement daily toolbox talks and safety discussions. Ensure compliance with company SHEQ standards, operational procedures, and client requirements. Report operational incidents, near misses, damages, and safety concerns timeously. Compile and submit monthly SHEQ reports and operational compliance updates. Reporting & Administration Submit monthly crew timesheets, vehicle kilometer readings, visuals, and operational documentation to the Regional Manager within required deadlines. Compile and submit monthly crew reconciliations. Maintain accurate operational records and reporting across all divisions. Maintain and update operational systems including Trello, OT3, NAV, and related platforms. Ensure all job information, operational records, and supporting documentation are accurately filed and maintained. Supplier & Contractor Management Manage supplier operational coordination and performance. Ensure all suppliers have signed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in place and renewed annually where required. Assist with sourcing, onboarding, vetting, and maintaining supplier relationships. Monitor supplier compliance with operational, contractual, and safety requirements. Escalate supplier performance concerns and assist in implementing corrective actions where necessary. Procurement & Financial Administration Raise purchase orders for all divisions, excluding Transit Mobile requirements processed through Johannesburg. Submit monthly operational expense reports, including maintenance and operational costs. Assist with cost tracking, budget control, and operational expenditure management. Site Access, Inspection & Asset Control Arrange site access, permits, inductions, and operational permissions where required. Coordinate monthly visual inspections and campaign/site inspection schedules. Assist with accurate monthly bin counts, including yard stock and OT3-recovered units. Ensure accurate banner stock control and safe storage practices. Monitor operational asset usage and report losses, damages, or maintenance requirements. Requirements & Skills Strong organisational, planning, and coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple operational activities simultaneously. Strong communication and team coordination abilities. Attention to detail and problem-solving capability. Experience in operations coordination, scheduling, supplier management, and reporting. Good understanding of health & safety compliance within operational environments. Ability to manage operational pressures and resolve issues effectively. Computer literacy with experience using operational management systems. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to operational sites.
