HEAD OF PRODUCT & PROCESS DESIGN (Automotive Component Manufacturing)

Our client, a well-established automotive component manufacturer, is seeking an experienced and technically strong Head of Product & Process Design to lead their end-to-end development lifecycle. This is a pivotal leadership role bridging R&D and manufacturing — ideal for a mechanical engineer who thrives on taking components from concept through prototyping to efficient, high-quality production.

THE ROLE

• Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, bridging R&D and manufacturing
• Oversee the transition of components from concept through prototyping to production
• Apply Lean principles, and FMEA methodologies to drive efficient, quality-focused outcomes
• Ensure alignment with automotive OEM standards, cost targets, and strict quality controls (IATF 16949)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• BSc Mechanical Engineering
• 8–10+ years’ experience in product development and process engineering within an automotive component supplier environment
• Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
• Strong CAD expertise: SolidWorks, DraftSight, and AutoCAD
• High-level interpersonal, communication, and project management skills
