A well-established franchised Mercedes-Benz dealership is seeking an experienced and manufacturer-certified

Mercedes-Benz Diagnostic / Systems Technician to join its After-Sales team. This opportunity is suited to a highly skilled technician with extensive dealership experience, advanced diagnostic expertise, and the ability to independently diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems to manufacturer standards.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, and vehicle system faults. Perform advanced diagnostics using Mercedes-Benz Star Diagnosis and Xentry systems. Carry out software programming, coding, parameterisation, system calibration, and software updates. Interpret fault codes, live data, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Complete repairs in accordance with Mercedes-Benz factory repair procedures and quality standards. Perform vehicle inspections, quality control checks, and road tests where required. Complete accurate job cards, warranty documentation, and repair reports. Support Service Advisors with technical findings and repair recommendations. Assist with parts identification and maintain workshop efficiency. Mentor junior technicians and maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric). Qualified Motor Vehicle Technician. Valid South African driver's licence. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mercedes-Benz Technician within an authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership. Extensive experience with Mercedes-Benz diagnostic systems and workshop procedures. Proven ability to independently diagnose and repair complex vehicle faults. Mandatory Mercedes-Benz Certifications Applicants must provide proof of the following certifications: Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Technician Certificate. Systems Pathway A or B. Systems Pathway C. Diagnostic Technician Certificate. Applications without the required Mercedes-Benz certifications will not be considered. Technical Skills Mercedes-Benz Star Diagnosis. Xentry Diagnostics. Workshop Information System (WIS). ECU programming, coding, and software updates. CAN Bus and advanced electrical/electronic diagnostics. Vehicle system calibration and structured fault-finding.
