Cape Town-based construction company is seeking a hands-on Foreman/Junior Site Manager to assist the Project Manager (who will be based on site) during the construction of a luxury multi-million Rand house in Houtbay.

OVERVIEW Cape Town-based construction company is seeking a hands-on Foreman/Junior Site Manager to assist the Project Manager (who will be based on site) during the construction of a luxury multi-million Rand house in Houtbay. PROJECT INFORMATION The project is currently in Site Establishment phase, so the successful incumbent will assist with fencing off the site, handle container placement on site, erecting signage, coordinate and direct civil work happening, assist with the water connection application and connecting of future services, order supplies (must be computer literate). When construction starts and bulk orders start happening, the successful incumbent, in conjunction with a leading hand, will be responsible for checking the quality of the bricklayers, plasterers, tilers, painters and others as well as ensuring the correct setting out is done. Surveyors will establish gridlines as construction progress. More information under Key Responsibilities (see below) KEY RESPONSIBILIEs Oversee site establishment (erect fencing, establish site security, place containers etc.) Monitor and oversee site activities from civil-and-ground works through to final handover. Management of all subcontractors, trades people, and site personnel. Assist with transportation of 2 to 4-man labour team to and from site to site. Responsible for safety and updating/completing the safety file. Setting out and operating a dumpy level. Order the required construction materials/tools. Receive, store, monitor, and control construction materials on site. Monitor site activities and report any issues that may cause delays to the Project Manager. Attend, and coordination meetings with the professional team (architects, engineers, quantity surveyors) Monitor and ensure quality control to the highest standards Monitor site productivity. INHERENT REQUIREMENTs 3 to 5 years' experience as Foreman / Junior Site Manager or Senior Foreman. Experience on residential building projects an advantage. Ability to read and interpret drawings. Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills Must be computer literate.
