Minimum requirements Matric Qualification in Bachelor of Optometry Completed practical / clinical rotation training HPCSA registration to practice Fluent in Afrikaans and English Valid driver's license and own vehicle MUST be willing to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays Skills required Clinical and technical skills Patient care and communication skills Problem-solving and decision-making skills Organisational and administrative skills Professionalism Duties and responsibilities Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision, eye health, and visual performance Diagnose refractive errors and identify ocular conditions and abnormalities Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and appropriate visual solutions Fit, assess, and manage contact lenses, including patient education and follow-ups Provide professional advice on eyewear, lenses, and eye care products Detect and manage ocular diseases within scope of practice and refer patients to ophthalmologists when required Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in compliance with HPCSA and company policies Deliver exceptional patient care and customer service to ensure a positive client experience Work collaboratively with the retail and clinical team to achieve service excellence and sales targets Ensure the optometry practice is compliant with health, safety, and hygiene standards Stay updated with industry advancements, clinical guidelines, and continuing professional development requirements Support store operations and contribute to the professional image and reputation of the practice Remuneration R20 000 - R35 000 CTC Depending on experience IMPORTANT: Applications close 14 August 2026 If you did not receive feedback within 14 days, please consider your application unsuccessful Only applications submitted via the Ditto Jobs platform will be considered Only candidates who meet all our client's minimum requirements will be contacted
