POSITION INFO
CORE PURPOSE OF JOB To provide support and administrative services to the Director's Office. As the first point of contact to external and internal stakeholders requiring the services of the Teaching Development unit, the secretary also performs the front office public relations and communication function. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Arrange and prepare documentation/ letters/ faxes/ e-mails/ reports/ agendas and minutes for the Director: Teaching Development Provide front office support, manage office and respond to enquiries Manage the Director's diary Provide financial and administrative ITS support and complete online forms e.g. Catering, Job Requests etc. Responsible for the preparation of official Teaching Excellence Cluster meetings arranged by the Teaching Development Director and booking of M218 (Teaching Excellence Seminar Room) Administrator for all the Teaching Development's (and to a certain degree Teaching Excellence Cluster) academic support programmes CORE COMPETENCIES Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) Report writing and minute taking skills Working knowledge and experience of the ITS system Possess accurate and methodical administrative and organisation skills Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills REQUIREMENTS To be considered for appointment to this post, candidates should have complied with the following requirements: Grade 12 or an equivalent Have at least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in which the above competences have been gained. A qualification in secretarial, office management, public relations or communication qualification will be an added advantage.
