SUMMARY

A manufacturing and metalworking industry is seeking a QC Manager. A relevant tertiary qualification in Quality Management ADV. Experience of 8 - 10 yrs within a metals environment, and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

POSITION INFO

Conducting weekly process audits. Championing weekly continuous improvement/quality meetings; defects to be pareto and appropriate corrective actions implemented. Liaise effectively with customers and external service providers, including machine shops, to coordinate quality requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely completion of work. Investigation and recording of customer complaints (NCR's), timeous feedback thereof to customer (NCR and relevant corrective and preventative action to be electronically filed to server). The operation and maintenance of the current quality management system. Analysis of quality related data to identify significant problems and trends. Organising internal audits to ensure that the quality management system is maintained. The management and documentation of both internal and external scrap, as well as the implantation of the relative corrective action, in conjunction with relevant head of departments. Preparation of quality plans as necessary. Maintenance of quality records. Provision and maintenance of resources for inspection and testing functions. Maintenance of suitably trained and qualified staff to perform quality control and quality assurance functions. Organising incoming inspection and approval of purchased products. Organising in process and final inspection of product prior to approval and release for dispatch. Control of non-conforming product or materials including corrective action and maintenance records. Prevention of any action, condition or use of non-conforming materials which could adversely affect the quality of the end product. Reporting to top management on the continued suitability and effectiveness of the quality management system, with a view to continual improvement. Calibration and renewals of all measuring inspections and test equipment in accordance with planned schedules. Liaise with customers, where necessary, on matters relating to product quality management system. Identification of training needs and arranging suitable training for quality related personnel. Adherence to the quality management system as documented, approved and issued.
