POSITION INFO

We are looking for a Junior Imports Controller to join a dynamic team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant importation of goods. This role is based in Kliprivier, Johannesburg South. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and manage import documentation, including purchase orders, shipping documents, and customs declarations. Ensure all import documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable regulations. Monitor compliance with import legislation and customs requirements while assisting with customs-related queries. Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs clearing agents, and transporters to ensure the timely delivery of imported goods. Track shipments and provide regular updates on delivery progress. Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile incoming stock. Assist in resolving shipment delays, discrepancies, and compliance issues. Monitor import costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce expenses. Process import-related payments and assist with Profit & Loss journal entries when required. Collect, maintain, and analyse import data for reporting and continuous improvement. Liaise with internal departments, including Sales, Production Planning, Receiving, and Accounts, to ensure seamless operations. Provide general administrative support to the imports function, including filing, reporting, and correspondence. Stay informed on industry trends, import regulations, and best practices. Job Experience and Skills Required: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field. A diploma in a relevant discipline will also be considered. 0-2 years' experience in import/export, logistics, or supply chain (internship experience will be advantageous). Experience working with Sage Pastel and Microsoft Excel . Basic understanding of customs procedures, import documentation, and international trade regulations. Apply now!
