Position Details
- Job Title: Nursing Assistant
- Reports To: Nursing Officer
- Grade: D
Job Summary
Under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse or Midwife, the Nursing Assistant performs basic routine nursing functions and supports the delivery of quality patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect patient data and assist in assessing health status.
- Participate in developing and modifying patient care plans.
- Plan and implement individual patient care.
- Carry out delegated aspects of the patient care plan.
- Participate in evaluating patient responses to interventions.
- Assist with health education and counselling as delegated.
- Communicate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Promote a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Advocate for patients by collaborating with healthcare personnel.
- Maintain professional competence and standards of practice.
- Complete required forms, reports, logs, and patient records.
- Deliver care in line with the mission, vision, and philosophy of Scott Hospital.
- Maintain professional appearance and punctuality for both day and night shifts.
- Plan and conduct health education sessions to improve patient care.
Minimum Requirements
- Certificate in Nursing Assistance from an accredited institution recognised by the Lesotho Nursing Council.
- Valid practising licence issued by the Lesotho Nursing Council.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and across various hospital departments.
