The role

Santam is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Banking Services Administrator to support the Banking Services Manager in ensuring that Santam and its subsidiaries operate within applicable banking regulatory and governance frameworks while delivering efficient, secure, and compliant banking services.

This is a permanent opportunity based at the Santam Head Office in Tygervalley, Cape Town.

What will you do?

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with banking institutions, regulatory bodies, technology teams, and business stakeholders across the Santam Group, driving banking system administration, automation initiatives, compliance reporting, and banking query resolution.

What will make you successful in this role?

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of banking governance and regulatory frameworks across the Santam Group.
  • Act as the key liaison between Santam and banking institutions to resolve premium collection and claims payment queries.
  • Administer banking platforms and ensure their availability, security, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide training and support to users of banking platforms across Santam and its subsidiaries.
  • Support third parties operating on Santam-owned bank accounts.
  • Assist business units such as Claims and Specialist Business with banking-related queries and solutions.
  • Coordinate banking system automation, integration projects, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Work closely with IT teams and developers on banking system connectivity and data feed requirements.
  • Monitor, collate, and report on compliance with banking regulations and industry requirements.
  • Engage with external regulatory bodies including PASA, Bankserv, FSCA, and FIC where required.
  • Investigate and resolve banking-related operational and technical issues within agreed service levels.

Qualification And Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Finance, Commerce, Banking, Treasury, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years' relevant experience within a Corporate Banking, Treasury, Banking Operations, or similar environment.
  • Experience working with banking platforms, payment systems, and banking regulatory requirements.
  • Exposure to banking system integrations, automation projects, and stakeholder engagement.
