Junior Web Developer

JHC Consulting is currently providing counsel to a major South African financial services firm regarding a significant transition in their governance and strategic reporting. We are looking for a Junior Web Developer to support the technical requirements of our advisory mandates. This is a permanent, full-time position conducted entirely through a remote work arrangement. While our firm is centered on the discipline of the written word, we require a technologist who can ensure that our digital repositories, internal documentation tools, and client-facing interfaces are as rigorous and clear as the memoranda we produce.

The Role

In this position, you will support the principals by managing the digital infrastructure that holds our written analysis. Your daily work will involve maintaining and updating internal web tools used to distribute our advisory notes to client boards. You will be responsible for ensuring that the technical presentation of our reports is stable, secure, and accessible for the executives who rely on them. This includes basic site maintenance, troubleshooting display issues on internal portals, and assisting with the migration of legacy documents into our current digital systems. Because our work centers on a dissenting read of internal corporate cases, you will often need to organize complex information architectures so that various versions of a memorandum remain distinct and traceable. This role is fully remote, requiring a high degree of individual organization and the ability to manage technical tasks without direct physical supervision.

What You Bring

We are seeking an entry level professional who possesses a fundamental understanding of web technologies and a deep respect for the clarity of information. You should have a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript. Familiarity with content management systems or static site generators is helpful, as is an interest in how technical architecture affects the readability of long-form text. We value candidates who treat code with the same scrutiny we apply to our prose. You do not need years of professional experience, but you must demonstrate the ability to follow technical documentation and solve problems through logical deduction. Strong written English is a requirement for every member of the firm, including those in technical roles.
