Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working closely with operations to improve profitability and financial performance.
- Maintain the cost accounting system and ensure accurate costing records.
- Reconcile cost accounts and analyse manufacturing and inventory variances.
- Prepare monthly manufacturing cost reports and variance analyses.
- Manage inventory control processes, including stock takes and reconciliations.
- Analyse and report on stock take variances.
- Cost imported goods, raw materials, manufactured products, and services.
- Maintain and monitor standard costing and standard cost variance reporting.
- Prepare annual standard cost budgets.
- Develop and improve cost reporting to support operational decision-making.
- Ensure accurate cost allocation across multiple business entities.
- Liaise with production, procurement, and other departments to ensure costing accuracy.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
- Support the Operations Financial Manager with financial reporting and analysis.
- Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial and cost reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting.
- CIMA Level 2 is essential.
- 7–10 years' experience as a Cost Accountant.
- Manufacturing experience is essential.
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience will be advantageous.
- Experience working with accounting software/ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
