Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working closely with operations to improve profitability and financial performance.

  • Maintain the cost accounting system and ensure accurate costing records.
  • Reconcile cost accounts and analyse manufacturing and inventory variances.
  • Prepare monthly manufacturing cost reports and variance analyses.
  • Manage inventory control processes, including stock takes and reconciliations.
  • Analyse and report on stock take variances.
  • Cost imported goods, raw materials, manufactured products, and services.
  • Maintain and monitor standard costing and standard cost variance reporting.
  • Prepare annual standard cost budgets.
  • Develop and improve cost reporting to support operational decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation across multiple business entities.
  • Liaise with production, procurement, and other departments to ensure costing accuracy.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
  • Support the Operations Financial Manager with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial and cost reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting.
  • CIMA Level 2 is essential.
  • 7–10 years' experience as a Cost Accountant.
  • Manufacturing experience is essential.
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience will be advantageous.
  • Experience working with accounting software/ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

R45k/month (commensurate with experience)
