Join a well-established multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm as a Project Manager based in Bloemfontein. We are looking for an experienced and driven Project Manager with a strong background in Water and Sanitation infrastructure, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering complex engineering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Lead and manage Water and Sanitation infrastructure projects from initiation through to close-out.
  • Manage project scope, programme, budget, quality, and overall project delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the client and project team.
  • Lead and mentor project managers and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Develop client briefs, project scopes, and project execution plans.
  • Monitor project progress and implement recovery plans where required.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and project performance.
  • Manage project costs and provide accurate reporting in conjunction with Quantity Surveyors.
  • Review extension of time claims and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Coordinate professional teams, consultants, and contractors throughout project delivery.
  • Assist with business development activities, tender submissions, and proposal preparation.
  • Source and coordinate specialist consultants for consortiums and joint ventures where required.
  • Prepare project reports and ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Education

  • BSc/BEng/BTech Engineering or related Built Environment qualification.
  • Registered as a PrCPM with SACPCMP (non-negotiable).
  • Engineering background advantageous.

Experience

  • 7–10 years' construction project management experience, or 10+ years' experience in a senior built environment role.
  • Extensive experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Senior general management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
  • Experience managing Water and Sanitation infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Project, proposal writing, and report writing.
