Join a leading private hospital in North West as a Trauma Qualified Unit Manager. We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and compassionate nursing leader with strong trauma and emergency nursing expertise, proven leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care while leading a high-performing multidisciplinary team.

*Lead, manage, and coordinate the daily operations of the Trauma and Emergency Unit to ensure efficient service delivery and exceptional patient care.

*Ensure the provision of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, SANC regulations, and best practice standards.

*Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff while fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.

*Manage staffing requirements, duty rosters, leave planning, and resource allocation to ensure optimal unit performance.

*Monitor patient care standards and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes.

*Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control measures, patient safety standards, and quality assurance programmes.

*Collaborate with doctors, specialists, allied healthcare professionals, and hospital management to ensure seamless patient care and operational excellence.

*Manage departmental budgets, stock control, equipment maintenance, and procurement processes.

*Oversee patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and emergency responses within the Trauma Unit.

*Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety.

*Ensure accurate clinical documentation and compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.

*Drive staff development through performance management, coaching, training, and continuous professional development.

*Participate in hospital committees, accreditation processes, and quality improvement projects.

*Promote patient and family-centred care by ensuring effective communication and support throughout the patient journey.

*Demonstrate strong leadership and sound clinical judgement while maintaining excellence in a demanding trauma environment.

Education

*Diploma/Degree in General Nursing.

*Diploma in Trauma and Emergency Nursing Science (essential).

*Diploma/Degree in Nursing Education & Administration/Nursing Management

*Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse.

Experience

*Minimum of 3–5 years' experience within a Trauma and Emergency Department.

*Previous Unit Management or leadership experience within a Trauma Unit.

*Strong clinical, leadership, and people management skills.

*Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.

*Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

*BLS certification advantageous.

*ACLS certification advantageous.

*ATLS/TNCC certification advantageous.
