Our client has a vacancy for a Fund Management Executive / CFO for a permanent role, based in Tshwane, Gauteng.

Applicants are required to strictly meet the following criteria:

  • Post graduate qualification in Finance, Commerce or Accounting Sciences (NQF Level 8)
  • Advantageous: Certification as a Chartered Accountant
  • Registration with the relevant professional body
  • 5 -10 years relevant business experience working in a finance role, post articles
  • Management or leadership experience
  • Relevant Experience in operational financial management processes
  • Collaborating with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues
  • Ethical, team player, diplomatic, and confident
  • Must have a statutory background and understand tax applications

The s uccessful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

Financial Management

  • Participate in the formulation of the Fund Strategy
  • Align divisional Strategy to the Fund Strategy
  • Allocate transactions appropriately and accurately to the correct business unit.
  • Design controls that underpin the production of financial data and ensure they operate effectively
  • Prepare and present budget presentations for various governance structures
  • Prepare General Ledger reconciliations timeously and review the reconciliations
  • Prepare month-end reports and presentations for Exco submission
  • Review the group fee calculation for the budget, submit to CEO for approval
  • Collate, consolidate, and distribute relevant information to the business unit
  • Standardise submissions in line with Group Reporting formats and standards
  • Submit and collate the cost centre budget submissions and submit them to CEO for approval

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with the governance structures in terms of financial and compliance matters of the Fund
  • Compile and submit fund performance status reports
  • Liaise with the Fund, pay fees and obtain the certificate for regulation of the fund fees
  • Process payment for insurance cover
  • Draft and review service level agreement for any shared resources
  • Provide support on stakeholder projects affecting the Fund

People Management

  • Support the onboarding and offboarding of team members
  • Assist and support the impact of change initiatives
  • Coach and train team members to perform optimally in their roles
  • Conduct regular meetings and promote open and ongoing communication with the team
  • Manage the performance of direct reports and monitor adherence to expected standards
  • Offer guidance and support and if required take appropriate disciplinary action
  • Participate in the selection and appointment of new team members
  • Provide direct reports with opportunities for growth and development through on-the-job training and feedback in line with the department and/or organisational strategy
  • Approve the leave, manage overtime where applicable, and other processes in line with delegations of the authority of direct reports

Budget Management

  • Assisting with the preparation and review of the department budget
  • Approve expenditure within the delegation of authority level
  • Monitor expenditure against budget, reporting any deviations within the hierarchy

Sal ary: R2 400 000 per annum (dependent on experience)
