Overall purpose of the role
A Transformation Manager is a multifaceted catalyst for change, someone who blends technical expertise, strategic foresight, and stakeholder savvy into an engine for inclusive progress. They possess a strong command of regulatory frameworks in Transformation. The role supports and executes the B-BBEE strategy development and annual certification. Conducting in-depth analysis of company information to assess risks, identify opportunities, and guide strategic decision-making. This includes the development, execution, and oversight of targeted strategies and implementation plans that drive progress toward overarching B-BBEE and Employment Equity (EE) objectives.
Yet go beyond compliance to architect systems that embed transformation into the culture. With a strategic mindset, interpreting data, model outcomes, and align transformation goals with business imperatives. Build trust, navigate cross-functional dynamics with emotional intelligence, ensuring that diverse voices are heard and mobilized by turning policy into actionable tasks.

Educational (minimum level necessary to perform the job)
Professional/Tertiary
Degree in Law, Human Resources Management, Financial Management or equivalent qualification.
Postgraduate Diploma Or Certification In
- B-BBEE compliance, Employment Equity and Transformation strategy
MDP in B-BBEE is advantageous
Other Requirements
- Able to use Microsoft Office Suite applications, Presentation tools, and programs
- Knowledge of all Regulations and Codes of Good Practice related to EE and B-BBEE.

- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation and requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in B-BBEE & EE
- Experience in preparing the Employment Equity Plan
- Managing Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (IDE) Programmes

To assist with the design and execution of the transformation strategy and policies
- To assist the transformation, lead with the development of transformation policies and governance frameworks as per EXCO and TSEC requirements.
- To manage the implementation of the Transformation strategy in line with KPMG strategy and BU action plans.
- Recommend initiatives to improve transformation across the firm.
- Apply strategic thinking to legislation, problem solving and developing value-adding strategies which align B-BBEE legislation and objectives, the spirit of transformation and business strategy.
- Engage with external consultants, industry bodies, partners and internal leaders to guide and direct practical and actionable B-BBEE-aligned business decision making.
Manage the implementation of transformation programmes and initiatives
- Track the Company's B-BBEEE contributions and ensure the integrity of data and documentation of elements.
- Coordinate Annual B-BBEE Audit and conduct internal and mini-audits quarterly to ensure proactive gap closing, preparation for the annual BEE audit and close engagement with the verification agency.
- Support the business in setting transformation targets across the firm (i.e. targets set in the strategy and by legislation).
- Administer and maintain all relevant documentation for the audit of KPMG’s BEE rating.
- Compile and prepare documentation for annual transformation scorecards of all business units (BUs) and offices.
- Manage the implementation of KPMG’s BEE scorecard and propose initiatives to improve the scorecard score.
- Guide business unit transformation committees to comply with the B-BBEE, skills development and Employment Equity Act and related processes.
- Share best practices of transformation within the firm.
- Assist and advise with target setting in affected BUs (Procurement, ED, etc.) and People BUs (bursaries, graduate and experienced hire intake).
Data management & administration
- Conduct benchmarking exercises to compare the company with its peers and compare processes and initiatives with other industry cutting-edge solutions.
- Extract and manipulate data from various information management systems and compile various transformation reports.
- Conduct information sessions with the Committees to highlight major changes, concerns, strategies, action plans. Manage internal reporting and analyze B-BBEE data reports and make recommendations or initiate corrective action.
- Prepare budgets: Plan and prepare the annual budgets by integrating the business unit strategy (business expertise)
- Provide all administrative functions related to the transformation role.
Forge and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Driving B-BEEE compliance throughout the business, which includes the education of all B-BBEE stakeholders on relevant codes of good practice.
- Communicate proactively with stakeholder groups across the business in order to obtain buy-in and input into the transformation strategy and stay up to date regarding business needs.
- Assist with developing reporting and communications strategies, ensuring leadership understands the transformation strategy and programs.
- Create high-level collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
