Inventory Manager

Overall Responsibility
The key purpose of this role is to ensure that all inventory governance processes and documentation are accurately completed and adhered to. The role is responsible for ensuring that all physical movements of inventory, including finished goods, empties and raw materials, are correctly recorded in Syspro and fully accounted for.
Focus Areas
- Facilitate daily, weekly and monthly physical inventory counts.
- Ensure that stock counts are conducted in accordance with company standards and procedures.
- Ensure that handheld devices used in the stock count process are correctly set up and appropriately maintained.
- Manage site stock and ensure effective stock control.
- Adhere to all physical pre-stock-take procedures.
- Print and action pre-stock-take reports.
- Process all stock adjustments prior to commencing the stock take, including sorted containers.
- Initiate stock takes on Syspro and upload physical stock counts from the stock-take system.
- Print stock variance reports and investigate all variances.
- Post all authorised unresolved variances daily.
- Close stock takes on Syspro and print the relevant posting and audit reports.
- Compile daily, weekly and monthly stock packs and ensure they are signed off by the relevant parties.
- Conduct ad hoc stock counts to investigate and resolve inventory variances.
- Assist with resolving and correcting invoice queries.
- Ensure that all Post Goods Issues (PGIs) have been processed.
- Check that no deliveries have been processed as Post Goods Issues without corresponding shipments.
- Ensure that all inter-depot movement notes are checked against the inter-depot gate register and appropriately filed.
- Follow up on all inter-depot shipments that remain in transit and have not been received.
- Ensure that all inter-depot claims are logged in accordance with the relevant claims procedure.
- Maintain product quality and stock integrity.
- Ensure the FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principle is applied to stock movements by printing bin-pulling sheets for the warehouse.
- Adhere to the stock-ageing policy and ensure that all concessions are raised and appropriately approved.
- Adhere to the product recall policy and ensure that all relevant procedures are followed.
- Ensure that frozen stock is physically isolated on the warehouse floor and moved to the blocked-stock zone on Syspro to prevent orders from being placed against the stock and to ensure accurate days-of-cover reporting.
Requirements
- 3-year Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related qualification.
- 2–3 years’ experience in warehousing and inventory management.
- Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Syspro experience or knowledge will be an added advantage
