Are you a hands-on IT Audit specialist with a proven track record in ITGCs, Automated Controls Reviews (ACRs), and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance?

We are seeking an operational, execution-focused IT Audit Specialist / Junior Manager for an immediate-start contract engagement.

Operating at a Chief Internal Auditor level and reporting directly to the Group IT Audit Manager, this is a 70% hands-on / 30% review role. You must be fully unencumbered and ready to "hit the ground running" from Day 1 to drive, execute, and quality-review complex IT risk testing across the group's digital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on ITGC & ACR Testing (70%): Execute end-to-end testing of IT General Controls (ITGCs) and Application Controls Reviews (ACRs) across complex, capital-intensive mining systems.
• SOX IT Compliance: Test and document IT-related Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), identifying gaps, risk exposure, and actionable remediation strategies.
• Review & Quality Control (30%): Review audit workpapers, ensure strict adherence to methodology, and assist in compiling defensible, audit-ready reporting packs for Group Audit leadership.
• Value Delivery: Evaluate system stability, access management, change control, and automated logic within key business and operational applications.

What We Are Looking For

• Certifications: CISA certification is mandatory (ISACA membership preferred). CIA, CISM, or CRISC designations are advantageous.
• Experience Level: 5–8+ years of robust, hands-on IT Audit experience inside a corporate, listed, or mining/industrial environment (ideal for a Senior IT Auditor or Assistant/Junior IT Audit Manager).
• Core Technical Competencies:
  • Deep expertise in executing and reviewing ITGCs and Automated Application Controls (ACRs).
  • Practical, hands-on exposure to SOX IT Controls testing within a listed group environment.
  • Experience with audit management software (e.g., TeamMate) and data analytics tools.
• Execution Mindset: A "doer" profile who thrives on rolling up their sleeves for field testing while maintaining the commercial maturity to review work and engage with technical leads.

Contract Details

• Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng (Largely Remote)
• Duration: Fixed-Term Contract (3 months at least)
• Availability: Immediate / Short Notice (Candidates who can start immediately will be prioritised)
