Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with new and existing business customers.
  • Engages customers professionally in line with the Bank’s service standards.
  • Serves as a liaison between customers and internal support divisions to ensure efficient delivery service.
  • Educates clients on business banking products, services, and procedures.
  • Identifies opportunities for additional facilities and value-added solutions through customer portfolio analysis.
  • Promotes and cross-sells relevant banking products and services.
  • Conducts customer visits, participates in business forums, and identifies new sales opportunities.
  • Continuously acquires new customers while strengthening existing relationships to improve customer retention.
  • Originates, structures, and manages credit facilities in accordance with the Bank’s lending policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow projections, and other financial information to assess creditworthiness.
  • Prepares and motivates credit applications in line with risk and credit requirements.
  • Manages and monitors lending portfolios to ensure profitability and portfolio quality.
  • Conducts annual credit reviews and ensures timely completion of client requests related to credit and collateral securities.
  • Monitors facility conditions and ensures compliance with approved terms and conditions.
  • Grows the Bank’s assets through responsible portfolio expansion.
  • Mobilises deposits and increases liabilities to achieve business targets.
  • Meets daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.
  • Negotiates and closes business deals that contribute to revenue growth.
  • Develops and implements initiatives that increase market share and business penetration.
  • Contributes to the Bank’s overall profitability and financial sustainability.
  • Prepares and submits accurate management reports within agreed timelines.
  • Ensures adherence to internal policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks.
  • Maintains high-quality credit documentation and minimises operational and credit risks.
  • Supports positive audit outcomes through compliance with established controls and governance requirements.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of banking products, systems, market trends, and regulatory developments.
  • Develops a sound understanding of related functions including Credit, Retail Banking, and Operations.
  • Monitors market activities and competitor developments and provide relevant business insights.
  • Actively participates in personal and professional development initiatives.

Education Requirements And Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in banking, financial services or sales.
  • Experience in credit analysis and portfolio management will be an added advantage.
