Join a leading private hospital in Klerksdorp, North West, as a Theatre Enrolled Nurse. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate nursing professional with strong operating theatre experience, excellent clinical skills, and a passion for delivering safe, high-quality perioperative patient care.

  • Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative journey.
  • Assist with the preparation of operating theatres, equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Provide scrub and/or circulating assistance during surgical procedures as required.
  • Ensure correct surgical instruments and equipment are available and appropriately prepared.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
  • Assist with patient positioning, preparation, transfer, and post-operative care.
  • Monitor patients closely and promptly report any changes in their condition.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient documentation and theatre records.
  • Assist with surgical counts and ensure compliance with patient safety protocols.
  • Ensure theatre equipment is clean, functional, and appropriately maintained.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and maintaining adequate theatre supplies.
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, Registered Nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, SANC regulations, and professional standards.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-organised operating theatre environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical governance initiatives.

Education

  • Diploma in Enrolled Nursing.
  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • 2-5 Years Experience in Theatre Nursing.

Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience working in an Operating Theatre essential.
  • Experience in scrub, circulating, and/or recovery advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and surgical procedures.
  • Good understanding of infection prevention and control principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced theatre environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team.
