Civil Draughtsman

An opportunity is available for an experienced Draughtsperson to play a key role in the preparation and management of technical drawings for transport infrastructure projects. Our client requires a detail-oriented professional with solid road and stormwater drafting experience and the ability to work efficiently within project teams.

Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12 with relevant draughting or CAD training
• 5–6 years' relevant experience in transport engineering draughting.
• Sound knowledge of road and stormwater drafting principles.
• Strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills.
• Working knowledge of InfraWorks, Excel and GIS.
• Experience working with large datasets within CAD environments.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate detailed drawings for transport engineering projects.
• Produce road layouts, longitudinal sections, road details and setting-out drawings.
• Prepare intersection grading plans, road signage drawings and strip maps.
• Develop stormwater layouts and associated details.
• Set up drawings for quantity calculations and assist with measuring project quantities.
• Manage and develop CAD libraries and 3D model resources.
• Support multidisciplinary digital model coordination.
• Deliver drawings in accordance with project schedules, budgets and quality requirements.

Advantageous

• Diploma in Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice.
• SANRAL or Western Cape Government roads and stormwater experience.
• 3D modelling experience.
• BIM Modeller or BIM Coordinator experience.
