A -established South African wine business is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Wine Sales Representative to take ownership of a premium wine portfolio across Gauteng.

This is a key growth role focused on expanding distribution, securing premium listings and building long-term relationships across the restaurant, hotel, lodge, wine bar and hospitality sectors.

You will represent two distinctive South African wine brands and engage with everyone from sommeliers and group buyers to restaurant owners and hospitality managers. We are looking for someone who combines commercial sales ability with strong wine knowledge, confidence and a genuine passion for the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Grow sales volume, revenue and distribution across the Gauteng on-consumption market

Identify, open and develop new restaurant, hotel and hospitality accounts

Manage and grow existing customer relationships through regular call cycles and excellent service

Secure and maintain wine list, by-the-glass and promotional placements

Conduct wine tastings, staff training and brand activations

Negotiate pricing, trading terms and promotional activities within agreed parameters

Monitor competitor activity, pricing and listings and provide relevant market feedback

Manage territory call cycles, stock availability and merchandising standards

Represent the brands at trade shows, wine festivals and customer events

Maintain accurate CRM records, call reports and sales forecasts

Consistently achieve monthly and annual sales targets

Minimum Requirements

2–3 years' proven sales experience, preferably within wine, liquor or FMCG

Experience in the on-consumption hospitality trade

An established network within the Gauteng restaurant and hospitality industry

Solid wine knowledge and a genuine passion for South African wine

Valid Code B driver's licence and own reliable vehicle

Strong negotiation, presentation and relationship-building skills

Computer literate, including MS Office and CRM systems

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends for events and functions

Advantageous

Cape Wine Academy, WSET or similar wine qualification

Experience representing premium or boutique wine brands

Existing relationships with hotel groups, restaurant groups or national accounts
