Core Job Purpose

Responsible for ensuring the effective monitoring of the CCTV program, promptly identifying and responding to security incidents, and maintaining a secure environment. The controller should possess excellent attention to detail, strong observational skills, vigilant individual and the ability to make quick and informed decisions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contact emergency or relevant emergency providers as needed.
  • Coordinate with security personnel and emergency responders during incidents.
  • High-Profile Client Protection
  • Respond promptly to security incidents by reacting to the situation and taking appropriate action.
  • Coordinate with security personnel and responders to address potential threats or breaches.
  • Maintain detailed incident logs and provide accurate and timely reports to the appropriate authorities.
  • Conduct regular checks on surveillance equipment, alarm systems, and vehicle monitoring systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Report any malfunctions, faults, or irregularities to the designated technical support team and control room manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of surveillance activities, incidents, and responses.
  • Generate detailed reports for management, summarizing daily activities and incidents.
  • Surveillance Monitoring
  • Operate and monitor CCTV systems, including Exocortex & Axis to ensure the continuous observation of designated areas.
  • Detect and analyze suspicious activities or security breaches through surveillance cameras.
  • Provide specialized monitoring and protection for high profile residents.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Psira B Grade – registered and up to date
  • Driver’s license
  • CCTV Control Room certification OR at least 2 years working experience in control room
  • Good communication skills in English and Afrikaans
  • Presentable and neat
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate with Office and Excel.
  • Must reside in Stellenbosch, Eersteriver, Mitchell’s Plain or Bellville to be eligible for staff environment transport.
