Design Draughtsperson - Civil/Structural Engineering - Johanensburg

Join a well-established engineering and consulting company as a Design Draughtsperson within their Civil/Structural Engineering team in Midrand, Johannesburg. We are seeking an experienced draughtsperson with a strong track record of producing high-quality, accurate drawings and 3D models, with the opportunity to work on world-class projects.

• Produce accurate and high-quality technical drawings for civil and structural engineering projects.
• Develop and maintain 3D models using relevant Autodesk software.
• Prepare drawing sheets and documentation in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Interpret engineering designs, specifications, sketches, and technical information.
• Assist engineers and project teams with the preparation and development of detailed drawings.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and completed to a high standard with minimal rework.
• Apply appropriate drafting standards and maintain consistency across project documentation.
• Incorporate design changes and revisions accurately and efficiently.
• Liaise with engineers and other project team members to resolve drawing and technical queries.
• Assist with structural detailing and reinforcement drawings where required.
• Maintain organised drawing files and ensure proper document control.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality engineering projects.

Education

• Relevant qualification in Design, Draughting, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

Experience & Technical Skills

• Minimum 7 years' experience in Design Draughting.
• Strong experience in 3D modelling and drawing/sheet production.
• Proficiency in Autodesk AEC Design Suite, particularly:
  • Civil 3D
  • Revit
• Strong portfolio demonstrating accuracy, attention to detail, minimal rework, and first-time-right drawings.
• Experience in civil and/or structural engineering draughting.
• Knowledge of structural detailing, including reinforcement detailing, would be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings and engineering design principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately within project deadlines.
• Immediate availability would be advantageous.
