Requirements

  • BSc/BTech/National Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or related field
  • Professional registration with SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Manager (Pr.CM) – non-negotiable
  • Minimum 8–10 years' experience within the construction industry
  • Proven experience managing building construction projects from inception through to completion
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, programming, quality control, and cost management
  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, site teams, and project resources
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and construction regulations
  • Sound understanding of JBCC and other relevant construction contracts
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's licence

Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects
  • Manage and coordinate daily site operations and construction activities
  • Develop and monitor construction programmes to ensure projects remain on schedule
  • Lead and manage site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project resources
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, quality, and productivity
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and regulations
  • Drive health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across the project
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and other professional team members
  • Chair site and project meetings and maintain accurate project records
  • Identify and resolve technical, commercial, and operational challenges
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
