Requirements
- Medically fit to work in an underground hot environment
- Clear criminal screening record
- Verified and authentic qualifications
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
- At least 3 yrs. Experience in the field of Evaluation of which at least 2 yrs. at Mineral Resources Officer evaluation
- Advance Evaluation, Intermediate Geology, Advanced MineCAD, MineRP MRM suite
Key Responsibilities
- People Management Leadership Role
- Provide coaching and on-the-job training to reporting staff.
- Manage performance and development of reporting staff.
- Ensure fair work allocation for team members.
- Inspire team members towards high performance.
- Supervise subordinate staff in the performance of their duties by allocating work according to identified priorities, levels of skill and complexity of work so as to meet deadlines.
- Ensures that subordinate staff enhances their knowledge on various aspects of their jobs by identifying short term training needs in relation to anticipated requirements and by assessing knowledge, ability and existing skills, providing on-the-job training in line with choice and application of methods and procedures.
- Ensures that the workload of subordinate staff is fairly allocated for good working relations and efficient departmental output. Adapts working procedures as and when required. Teamwork Role

- Plans and prioritises according to task allocation and deadlines.
- Allocates work to grade officers to ensure required.

- Updates old gold master plan.
- Identifies areas for vamping.
- Attends Vamping monthly planning.
- Adheres to planning process protocol and document management.
- Plans and measures auxiliary crews monthly.
- Signs off contractor payment documentation based on measuring conducted and contractual deliverables.
- Conducts routine Mine Call Factor, audits in working places, surface, plant and underground belt areas.
- Visits top 10 panels for 100% coverage monthly.
- Conducts audits to assess Mine Call Factor compliance.
- Conducts audits to verify measurements done by surveyors.
- SHE Compliance
- Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment.
- Participate in risk assessments and investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. SHE Management:
- Instil a culture of SHE leadership within the department.
- Conduct recces in line with company procedures, to identify opportunities for vamping and reclamation.
- Participate in the Fatality Elimination Strategy by being mindful of own behaviour and that of fellow workers.
- Quality Management System (QMS):
- Originate documents for stopped panels and abandoned areas.
- Maintain old gold plans as per departmental requirements and protocol.
- Comply with requirements of the Quality Management System.
- Support organisational compliance with ISO certification requirements.
- ESG Compliance
- Support ESG through identification and tabling of reclamation and re-use opportunities to avoid wasteful use of resources which is detrimental to the environment.

- Provides input in budgeting for the Old Gold and Reclamation department in line with business requirements and financial objectives.
- Ensures that old gold resources are deployed accordingly to avoid misappropriation and undue reward of stopping teams for work done by vamping crews.
- Ensures that monthly plans are aligned with approved annual budgets. Cost Savings:
- Ensures that accurate measurements of contractors’ work performance is done to avoid over payments.
- Flag any over invoicing by contractors identified.
- Conduct recces in line with company procedures, to identify opportunities for vamping and reclamation.
- Stakeholder Relations
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and crossfunctionally.
- Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.
- Sourcing, contracting and negotiating with service providers.
- Collaborating with external service providers regarding the design and implementation of tools to enhance processes. Internal Relationships:
- Production Unit Managers and personnel; Departmental Heads (Engineering, Rock Engineering, Ventilation); Other Mineral Resource Management disciplines (Evaluation, Geology, Mine Planning).
- Central MRM Department. External Relationships:
- Contractors.
Additional Requirements
- MRM or other tertiary qualification will be advantageous
Job Purpose
- To coordinates Grade Control service for the operation, entailing the monitoring and reporting of grade control factors in workings, and identifying and advising on opportunities and areas for corrective action and to ensure that gold is not abandoned or lost during the mining process.
