Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Economics beginning August 2027. Appointment is for nine months per year (August - May). The rank will be Assistant Professor or Instructor depending on qualifications. Applicants should possess or be close to completing a doctorate degree. Faculty maintain active research programs and contribute to the College’s shared governance.

Qualifications

We are interested in candidates who can teach ECO 103 Intro to Economics Perspectives and ECO 203 Value and Distribution. These courses require training in heterodox economics and political economy approaches. We are also interested in a candidate who can teach elective courses on global economic issues, such as postcolonial perspectives on economic development and the ongoing impact of colonial legacies in the context of the global South. In addition, the candidate would offer courses that build on the Department’s offerings along with contributions in the College’s general education program, Connections.
