Purpose of Role
To build, scale, and commercially deliver Cell C’s Enterprise product portfolio from the ground up, targeting SME, Corporate, and Government segments. This is a greenfield mandate requiring the establishment of a fully operational Enterprise product capability — including enterprise product development, partner ecosystem ownership, and DSP/content monetisation. Accountable for delivery against a R130M Enterprise revenue ambition from a near-zero base.
Purpose of the Role
In addition, the role is accountable for the end-to-end ownership and monetisation of the Enterprise partner ecosystem, including Digital Services and Content (DSP) portfolios. This includes defining partner strategy, structuring commercial models, and driving revenue realisation across partner-delivered and content-based products and services.
The role owns a complex, interdependent portfolio of 20+ concurrent product streams across 10+ partners, spanning connectivity, unified communications, cloud, cybersecurity, IoT, digital services, VAS and content monetisation. This includes managing multiple commercial models across infrastructure-led, partner-led, and content-led revenue streams, requiring orchestration across technical, commercial, regulatory, and operational domains to ensure successful commercialisation and sustainable revenue growth.
As part of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the role is responsible for leadership, performance management, and creating an environment that enables execution of the Growth Division’s strategic objectives.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic Implementation
- Lead the development and execution of the Enterprise product strategy and roadmap
- Drive delivery against revenue, margin, and growth targets for Enterprise (SME, Corporate, Government)
- Define and implement go-to-market strategies addressing enterprise customer needs and competitive dynamics
- Own and monetise the Enterprise partner ecosystem across multiple vendors and solution providers
- Define and lead the Enterprise partner and DSP/content strategy, including partner selection and commercial frameworks
- Drive monetisation of partner-delivered, VAS and content-based services
- Ensure compliance with telecom regulations and enterprise governance requirements
Operational Excellence
- Establish operating model, governance (BCF/BCA), and product lifecycle disciplines
- Drive time-to-market for multiple concurrent product streams
- Ensure uplift in revenue, deal conversion, pipeline velocity, contract value, partner revenue contribution, and content monetisation performance
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Technology, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Customer Operations
- Establish dashboards for performance tracking and business insights
Product Management
- End-to-end ownership of the Enterprise product portfolio across connectivity, UC, IoT, cloud, security, and DSP/content offerings
- Own and monetise DSP/content portfolio, VAS including sourcing and commercialising digital services
- Define and manage multiple commercial models including revenue share, licensing, subscription, and bundled propositions
- Lead product lifecycle from concept through to launch and optimisation
- Ensure partner-delivered products, VAS and content services are fully productised and commercially ready
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure clear commercial execution
Leadership and People Management
- Lead and motivate staff to effectively deliver objectives, ensuring development opportunities, appraisal and management systems are embedded and relevant HR procedures are adhered to
- Provide an advisory, support and mentorship function to enable staff to grow within their career
- Maintain a low staff turnover rate
- Initiate the appropriate Labour Relation action required within the department
- Establish, evaluate and guide the department’s Employee Performance Management programme
- Set Key Performance Indicators targets and goals as per the department’s strategy and business objectives
- Recruit employees; assign and direct work, oversee their development, identify training needs and maintain staff competence
- Uphold HR policies and procedures
Performance any other related duties as requested by Management
Ensure all activities meet and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, legal stipulations, health and safety compliance, environmental policies and general duty of care
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field
- Postgraduate degree will be advantageous
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years+ experience in telecommunications, technology, software development
- Of which minimum least 3 years must have been in a senior leadership position
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in product development, pricing and strategy – preferably in telecommunications, technology, or software development.
- Proven track record managing cross-functional teams and product portfolios
- Proven experience building business cases and financial modelling
- Experience in leading product teams, building strategy, and delivering on commercial KPIs
- Deep understanding of customer lifecycle management, segmentation, and revenue growth levers
- Proficiency in leveraging data, insights, and advanced analytics to drive decision making
- Experience working in or with B2B customer product development and fixed-line environments preferred
- Experience in leading segmentation of the customer base, including reporting and creation of contextualised value offers
