Electrical & Instrumentation QA/QC Inspector - Petrochemical Shutdown

We are urgently seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) QA/QC Inspector to join a major shutdown project at Sasol Secunda.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and verifying electrical and instrumentation installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring that all work complies with approved drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, quality standards, and client requirements.

Candidates with strong E&I QA/QC experience within the petrochemical, oil & gas, heavy industrial, and shutdown environment are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct QA/QC inspections of electrical and instrumentation work during the shutdown.

- Inspect electrical installations, equipment, cabling, terminations, panels, and related systems.

- Inspect instrumentation installations, cabling, instruments, tubing, terminations, and associated equipment.

- Verify installation and workmanship against approved drawings, specifications, and procedures.

- Review and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality control checklists.

- Witness and verify electrical and instrumentation testing, calibration, loop checks, and commissioning activities.

- Review test results, inspection records, certificates, and quality documentation.

- Identify, record, and follow up on non-conformances until corrective actions are completed.

- Conduct site inspections, quality walkdowns, and punch-list activities.

- Ensure all quality documentation is accurately completed and maintained.

- Liaise with Project Managers, Construction Supervisors, Engineers, client representatives, and contractors.

- Assist with final inspections, handover documentation, and project close-out.

Minimum Requirements

- Relevant Electrical and/or Instrumentation qualification.

- Relevant QA/QC qualification or inspection certification will be advantageous.

- Minimum 5 years' relevant E&I QA/QC inspection experience.

- Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation QA/QC within a petrochemical, oil & gas, heavy industrial, or shutdown environment.

- Previous Sasol experience/shutdown experience will be highly advantageous.

- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation installation standards and inspection requirements.

- Experience with ITPs, quality checklists, punch lists, NCRs, inspection reports, and handover documentation.

- Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.

- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation testing, calibration, loop checking, and commissioning.

- Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.

- Good understanding of SHEQ requirements in a high-risk petrochemical environment.

- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.

- Valid driver's licence – advantageous.

- Must be medically fit to work on a petrochemical site.

- Valid medical fitness certificate – advantageous.

- Valid Sasol induction – advantageous.
